When I was in high school the pen had not made it into the freestyle repertoire of recess beat making. It was palms and fists pounding rhythmically on a desk while some one else beat boxed. I happened to be in a math class (REMEDIAL ALGEBRA 4 LIFE) with the two best table thumpers at the school. If we were quiet throughout the Friday lesson our teacher would allow the last minute of class time to be devoted to having the guys go at it on their desks.
